Anniversary in the Pharmaceutical Industry!

Oh it's my 1 year na pala I almost forgot medyo late na ito post ko.
December 1, 2009 ako nag start sa pharma at namulat sa kalakaran ng gamot sa Pinas!

Anyway medyo vague at ambivalent ang feeling ko sa industriya pinasok ko. Should I stay or should I go ang drama?

Why? Well marami ako na naranasan na problema within one year of exposing my self in this business. Masasabi ko marami ako natutunan at nadiskubre mula sa pabebenta ng aking produkto.

I will not tell it here medyo magpagka confidential when it comes to my first company at controversial naman dito sa second one. Just to give u a clue the first one is a local marketing agency while second one where I am still connected, is a
multi-national(I.A Corp).2nd largest company in the World? but then i can't feel that I belong!(drama again)

so much for drama hihi...Saka na ko mag celebrate kapag maayos na ang daan na aking tinatahak.

At the end of the day, smile lang kapatid may bukas pa darating :)

When Gouty Meets Me

ME:Hi gouty how are you?

GOUTY:Im fine! how about you?

ME: Not so good I was diagnosed to have hyperuricemia last September. with BUA of 7.19 mg/dl

GOUTY: So sad i suggest you prevent eating foods that will trigger the attack like Legumes,Anchovies,Mussels,Meat Extracts,Internal Organs, Gravies, Sardines, Mackerel, Nuts and Chocolates (it's like the end of the world waah).

ME: Yes, don't worry Im a nurse and I know how to take care of myself. Thank you for your advise gouty.

GOUTY: Welcome and be careful! Prevention is better than Cure:)

An Oral Gel without product insert?!

Im a nurse by profession, i studied pharmacology for almost 2 years in the nursing school, now im a medical representative im still exposed to a lot of drugs from Vaccines, Pills, and other drugs from my company.

I accompanied my mom to have her check up with the doctor. She was diagnosed with HPN and NIDDM last year. So since then she is taking 2 maintenance drug. She is complaining about her mouthsores that doesn't heal, so the doctor prescribed an oral gel, she told us that it comes with a spoon so u can measure it before administration, when we buy the oral gel i wasn't able to check the packaging. When we got home there was no spoon and much worst, there was no product insert regarding the medicine. So i started to think how to apply the gel good thing google is available to help me verify the way how to administer the medicine.

What if google is not available or i don't have any background about pharmacology? Manufacturer should at least label the drug with instruction for the safety of the patients.

The Mental Battle Part II

The Right Company in The WRONG time!

being a representative from the marketing agency is not that easy u will experience a lot of problems as u go along, maybe that's the reason why i decided to move in to another company. But without me knowing the pro's and con's I made a big decision that brought a drastic change in my career as a PHR.I started my training last july in makati and the so called expansion gave us the notion of a good career in the future with the no.2 pharmaceutical company in the world. But as we go along during the training questions arises.Rumors start to spread in and out of the 4 corners of AIM,confirmation was done by the training managers. The expansion was NOT approved due to "lack of study"???. Everyone was anxious angry and emotions start to fill in. A lot of us was shock. What will happen to us? What is the consequence of the disapproval? What will the company do to almost a hundred of us that they try to hire? To be honest result was not good. After aspiring to be the topnotcher in the training then u will be given with the so called associate position? or even referring those who did not make it to a third party AGAIN? Fortunately I am one of the unlucky people selected to be given with the so called Associate Position if you know what it is all about u will not like it.

The Mental Battle

"Learn the Art of Waiting" I always say this quote to everyone when it comes to waiting for something important that is essential to career or lovelife. After joining the pharmaceutical industry September 2009, I learned a lot of things from product training, sales dialogue or the much more known as product detailing. I should say that training is very important because it is an avenue for us to growth. I stayed with them for almost 9 months after hitting my quota for 4 consecutive months and being the number one phr in our division I got nothing even a single centavo. Because of this I started to weigh things should I stay or should I go? Then here comes a new company opening it's door for me saying that we will give u the security of tenure that u need and all the benefits that u did not enjoy with ur previous employer. Within one month of the hiring process i decided to quit with the first one and started to join the training with the second one.

it's been a long time since my last post now im back and hopefully enjoy blogging again.After being busy with my work and some priorities in life im definitely back and will be posting more of my experiences in my career as a professional healthcare representative of the number two pharmaceutical company in the world :)

Competitors Day!!!

Most of the doctors here in lower Cavite were very loyal to the competitors brand ...Sad to say that it is hard to win them back to my product but this will be a challenge to me since this is my first work and I am excited about the thing ...On the other hand I am insomniac for 3 almost 3 days thinking on how I can sell my product to them or even have my first booking I am really crossing my fingers for that... So help me GOD...
